Plant High School Counseling Department's Implementation of the American School Counselor Association (ASCA) National Model (Student Services Division) | |
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
The ASCA National Model is the framework for a comprehensive, data-driven school counseling program. There are standards for school counseling just like there are standards for all academic content areas. The ASCA National Model outlines the frameworks for those standards.
A comprehensive school counseling curriculum includes four core area of focus:
The simple question that drives Plant High School's program is "How are students different because of what we do?" Based on a review of schoolwide data and the results of a student needs survey, the school counselors created goals for the school counseling program. |
