Recognition of West Tampa Elementary and Steinbrenner High School for Their Inclusion in the 2016 Florida Department of Education's "Sparkplugs" Publication for Exemplary Family and Community Involvement Practices. (Community Engagement, Outreach and Philanthropy) | |
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
Annually, the Florida Department of Education publishes the "Sparkplugs" booklet for family and community involvement and chooses schools that have excellent programs involving family and community members in meaningful school engagement.
West Tampa Elementary was chosen for successfully piloting and implementing the "Academic Parent Teacher Team" (APTT) program that is being duplicated throughout the district. Steinbrenner High School was chosen for their "World of a Teen" program that addresses the needs of teens and prepares them for success in high school and beyond. |
