Adoption of Proclamation - Youth Art Month, March 2017 (Office of Teaching and Learning) | |
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
The Council of Art Education and the National Art Education Association have designated March 2017 as Youth Art Month. Youth Art Month serves to emphasize the value of art education for all children and to encourage support for quality art programs. It also provides a forum for acknowledging skills fostered through experience in the visual arts that are not possible in other subjects offered in the curriculum.
Art education programs develop creativity, critical thinking skills, communication, and collaboration to assure our students' success in the twenty-first century. |
