Recognition Honoring Mr. Harold H. Clark for Investing over 50 Years in Education and Positively Impacting Students
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
In celebration of African American contributions to art, culture, and leadership during Black History Month, we are taking a special opportunity to commemorate Mr. Harold H. Clark, namesake of Clark Elementary School located in the northeast Tampa Palms area that opened in 1998.

Mr. Clark is a true trailblazer. He served as the principal at Just Junior High School and later at Blake High School. He spent several years working for the State Department of Education. He then returned to Hillsborough County Public Schools as the Director of Human Relations. In that role he led the team responsible for working with desegregation in Hillsborough County. He later became an Area Director and then Assistant Superintendent of Supportive Services. As Assistant Superintendent, he was instrumental in the formation of the Hillsborough Education Foundation in 1987 and 1988.

Once again, his commitment to education continued in retirement where he served for eight years as Hearing Master for the district. In total, Mr. Clark served more than 50 years in Hillsborough County Public Schools.
