Recognition of the Institute of Electronic and Electrical Engineers (IEEE) Florida West Coast Section (FWCS) Lignell 2017 Award Winner (Office of Teaching and Learning) | |
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
The FWCS of the IEEE annually recognizes outstanding mathematics and science teachers who have significantly impacted the lives of their students through highly engaging Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) activities both in and out of the classroom. The Lignell Award is open to all educators teaching classes in mathematics or science in public high schools. IEEE is the world's largest professional association advancing innovation and technological excellence. The recipients are selected from 12 counties that comprise the FWCS. This year's winner was invited to attend the Tampa Bay Engineers Week Banquet on Thursday, February 23, 2017, at the T. Pepin's Hospitality Center where she was presented with the 2016 Lignell Award and an honorarium. We would like to recognize this year's recipient:
