Recognition of the Plant High School KNO3 Robotics Team for Inspiration & Recognition of Science & Technology (FIRST) Florida Tech Challenge (FTC) Team (Office of Teaching and Learning) | |
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
The KNO3 Robotics Team representing Plant High School competed in FIRST Robotics which was established in fall of 2013. Their goal was to introduce Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) opportunities in their high school and provide a sustainable platform for students to learn lifelong skills of self-confidence, communications, and leadership. Engaging students in a competitive, yet fun and exciting programs will encourage students to pursue education and career opportunities in STEM. The Team was invited to compete at the 2017 FIRST FTC World Championships on April 19-22, 2017, in Houston, Texas. In 2017, the KNO3 Robotics Team received the following awards: Finalist Alliance Partner State Championship; Connect Award Florida State Championship; 2nd Inspired Award Florida State Championship; Winning Alliance South Super Regionals; and the Inspire Award Robot League Championship.
