Recognition of the Farnell Middle School Falcon One Robotics Team (Office of Teaching and Learning) | |
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
The Falcon One Robotics Team competed at the 2017 Annual Robofest Competition on March 11, 2017, at Nielsen Media in Oldsmar, Florida. Robofest is a festival of competitions and events with robots that encourages students to have fun while learning principles of Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) and Computer Science. Students design, construct, and program the robots. The Falcon One Robotics Team had two teams qualify for the World Competition: 1) The RoboParade Team created a National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) float and discussed the history of NASA; and 2) The Exhibit Team created a robotic product, a simulation device that monitors ocean waves that reach certain heights. The students will compete this summer in the International World Competition on June 2-3, 2017, in St. Petersburg Beach, Florida.
