Approve Renewal of Agency Agreements for Provision of Educational Program for Hospital/Homebound Exceptional Student Education, 2017-2020
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
We request approval of the following renewal agency agreements to partner with area medical agencies to provide Hospital/Homebound services to eligible students with disabilities at the agency site:
  • Pediatric Health Choice
  • Tampa General Hospital
These agency agreements allow district personnel to provide educational services at the facility.  Enrollment of Hospital/Homebound students generate the FTE funds to provide necessary educational services to students who are patients at these facilities.  The renewal agreements are effective July 1, 2017 through June 30, 2020.  Approximately 150 students are served at these sites.
STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES
• Improve the high school graduation rate • Provide a student-centered learning environment that engages every child • Develop a culture of respect, trust, and collaboration • Engage and communicate with families and stakeholders
FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted:  Yes)
Students receiving services in these facilities are eligible for Hospital/Homebound services and generate state FTE funding. These partnerships allow us to access the facilities in order to provide services to students. There is no additional cost to the district for these agency agreements.
