Approve Agreement with the City of Tampa for the 2017/2018 School Resource Officer Program (Business Services Division)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The School Board annually approves an agreement with the City of Tampa for the placement of School Resource Officers in our secondary schools.  The agreement is administered by the City of Tampa for the 2017/2018 fiscal year, August 2, 2017, through July 31, 2018.  The participating law enforcement agency in the School Resource Officer Program pays 50 percent of the program cost.  The Mayor of the City of Tampa requires that The School Board of Hillsborough County, Florida be the first signature on the agreement.

• Establish a strong foundation of financial stewardship • Demonstrate "best practices" in all aspects of safety: student, employee, visitor, facility, transportation, and health
FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted:  Yes)
Total expenditure of this request is $1,613,445.11 using General Fund, project 9999, and Safe Schools, project 5318.  The Safe Schools Categorical as of the Florida Education Finance Program (FEFP) Second Calculation is $3,472,788.
