Recognize Participants in the Transportation Department's Back to School Fair and Stuff the Bus Supply Drive (Operations Division)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Hillsborough County Public Schools (HCPS) Division of Operations would like to recognize the Transportation Department, district employees, sponsors and social services for their assistance with the Transportation's Back to School Fair and Stuff the Bus school supply drive. On August 5, 2017, Transportation hosted their first Back to School Fair at Harney Road with Master of Ceremony Rod Carter, anchor/reporter from WFLA.  The Transportation Department came together to make a difference for students and families.  Along with providing free physicals and back-to-school goodies and raffles, we promoted active and healthy, safe modes of transportation, encouraged school readiness, parental involvement and community interaction. In support of the back to school bash, Transportation also organized a Stuff the Bus school supply drive throughout the month of July.  Yellow school buses were seen in strategic locations throughout the county in hopes of receiving enough donations to stuff 250 book bags for the event.  Several community sponsors stepped up and enabled us to double that amount to more than 500 backpacks filled with school supplies, all distributed to students who attended the fair.
