The Florida Department of Education curriculum frameworks require on-site clinical training for health science education enrollees. At this time, we have 101 active clinical facilities that provide hands-on clinical experiences for secondary and postsecondary students based on affiliation agreements. The length of programs in which students are enrolled range from three weeks to 14 months. These standard agreements are necessary to fulfill our obligation to students for clinical experiences. The partnerships we establish with the clinical facilities in this community are essential to our Health Science Education programs and beneficial to the health care industry. We are pleased that the quality of our graduates provides an incentive to the health care industry to continue our long-term mutually beneficial relationship.

These facilities require The School Board of Hillsborough County, Florida to be the first signatures on the agreements.
STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES
• Improve the high school graduation rate • Provide a student-centered learning environment that engages every child
FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted:  No)
Clinical facilities are provided by various health care agencies at no cost to the Hillsborough School District.

Clinical facility will be evaluated by students and instructors after each clinical rotation utilizing a clinical environment instrument for 2017/2018.  These facilities were used for clinical by Erwin Technical College, Brewster Technical College, Tampa Bay Technical High School and will be used by Aparicio-Levy Technical College in 2017/2018.  They were evaluated by both students and faculty.  Both students and staff deemed the experience valuable in augmenting and providing practical healthcare industry experience.
