Approve Acceptance of Project for the Student Nutrition Services Operations Center Build-Out (Phase 2) at Silo Bend
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
On November 17, 2015, the Board approved the lease for a Student Nutrition Services (SNS) Operations Center at Silo Bend. Relocation to Silo Bend enabled SNS to consolidate administrative functions, production sites, training services, and equipment storage into one centralized location, and most importantly, allowed SNS to improve the quality of its service to students and staff.

Remodeling of the leased space was required to support SNS requirements. The landlord accomplished Phase 1 of the remodeling which supports relocation of the SNS staff to the leased facility. Staff selected Rowe Architects Incorporated and Williams Company Tampa from the approved Continuing Services Consultants list to provide design and construction management services for Phase 2, which provided training facilities, production and demonstration kitchens, a café, and warehouse space. The Board previously approved a contract for the food service equipment for the production and demonstration kitchens.

The design professional has certified that the work is complete in accordance with the plans and specifications and other contract documents and recommends Board acceptance.

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted:  Yes)
Funds in the amount of $7,610,886.84 will be available in the Student Nutrition fund. For tracking purposes, the project number specific to this agenda item is 9111. As of Tuesday, January 30, 2018, the remaining balance less encumbrances for this line item equaled $123,442.00.
