SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS
Approve Reporting Dates for Personnel for the Opening of Elementary "C" School - August  2017 (Chief of Schools)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The current plans are to open one elementary school for the 2017/2018 school year.  To properly staff Elementary "C" School, it is recommended that the appropriate school personnel report early as indicated in the attachment.  This schedule follows the same procedure that has been utilized in previous years for opening new schools and ensures that there is staff in place for developing curriculum, enrolling and scheduling students, selecting personnel and staff, ordering furniture and equipment, organizing PTA Executive Boards, and School Advisory Council plans, etc.

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted:  Yes)
The amount currently allocated in the 2016/2017 operating budget is $ 78,333.23. This impact was projected last spring and placed in the salary budget for this school year.  The projected impact for the 2017/2018  school year is $ 41,152.66. This will be placed in the salary account for the operating budget for the next school year.
