Office of Teaching and Learning Program Analysis Update on Springboard (Office of Teaching and Learning) 
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
In compliance with 1006.36(1) Term of adoption for Instructional Materials. The term of adoption of any instructional materials must be a 5-year period beginning on April 1 following the adoption, except that the commissioner may approve terms of adoption of less than 5 years for materials in content areas which require more frequent revision. Any contract for instructional materials may be extended as prescribed in s. 1006.34(3).

The Office of Teaching and Learning is committed to offering a district-wide adopted curriculum aligned with the Florida Standards or the Next Generation Standards.  A review of the programs, initiatives and curricula, in conjunction with the Office of Assessment and Accountability, will be done on an annual basis to monitor for fidelity of each curriculum and to determine if it meets the needs of our students.  Through this review and analysis, curriculum and exams will be revised, discounted, or replaced, as needed. 

The following programs are in the process of being analyzed: 

SpringBoard:

  • English Language Arts - grades 6-12, Regular and Honors - core 
  • Math - Offered in Grade 7, Mathematics Advanced, Geometry Honors - core
  • Grades 7 and 8, Algebra I Honors - supplemental
  • Grade 9, Algebra I Honors, Geometry Honors, Algebra II Honors and Pre-Calculus - core
