Approve Agreement with the City of Tampa for the 2016/2017 School Resource Officer Program (Chief of Staff)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The School Board annually approves an agreement with the City of Tampa for the placement of School Resource Officers in our secondary schools.  The agreement is administered by the City of Tampa for the 2016/2017 fiscal year, August 1, 2016 - July 31, 2017.  The participating law enforcement agency in the School Resource officer Program pays 50 percent of the program cost.
STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES
• Establish a strong foundation of financial stewardship • Demonstrate "best practices" in all aspects of safety: student, employee, visitor, facility, transportation, and health
FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted:  Yes)
Total expenditure of this request is $1,596,210.45 using General Fund, project 9999 and Safe Schools allocation, project 5318.  As of July 7, 2016, the balance is $0.00. An FEFP wire transfer is expected on July 11, 2016, from the Department of Education.
