Approve Agreements for Technical Services Which Provide Services to Florida Instructional Materials Center for the Visually Impaired (FIMC-VI) (Educational Access, Opportunity, and Alternatives Division)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
We request approval of these seven Agreements for Technical Services for FIMC-VI.  A synopsis of each vendor providing services is outlined on Attachment A.

Since 1972, the Florida Department of Education/Bureau of Exceptional Education and Student Services (FLDOE/BEESS) continues to support FIMC-VI with federal IDEA/Part B, IDEA Trust Funds, and State General Revenue appropriations to meet the instructional materials needs of students with visual impairments enrolled in Florida’s schools.  As defined by Florida Statute, 1003.55, FIMC-VI will produce, procure, distribute, recirculate, and house specialized materials including statewide assessments for students who are blind and visually impaired.  Hillsborough County Public Schools has served as FIMC-VI’s headquarters for the past 44 years.
STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES
• Improve the high school graduation rate
FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted:  Yes)
Funds in the amount of $84,602.50 will be available in the divisional special revenue/federal programs budget. For tracking purposes, the project numbers specific to this agenda item are Projects 3316 and 3339.
EVALUATION
As required in the Additional Assurances included in the 2017/2018 Project Application, quarterly data reflecting all project activities will be maintained in the FLDOE/BEESS Project Tracking System.
