Renewal of the Memorandum of Understanding with The College Board as a Partner with The School Board of Hillsborough County, Florida in its Continued Implementation of the District Partnership Agreement for College and Career Readiness Program Model 2017/2018 Through 2019/2020 (The Partnership) (Office of Teaching and Learning)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Through a collaborative process, the program components were chosen and implementation approaches were optimized for Hillsborough County Public Schools (HCPS), which resulted in: 1) discounts on The College Board products due to the whole district, multi-year nature of the project; and 2) optimized implementation approaches that saved HCPS more than $2,500,000. The Partnership is designed to target five elements: 1) implementation of rigorous academic programs for all students to increase students' opportunities to succeed in advanced-level courses; 2) extensive and ongoing professional development for principals, teachers, and counselors; 3) extensive use of data to inform and drive teaching, learning, and assessment within each school; 4) college planning and preparation, including school-based counseling, and college-prep programs; and 5) developmental support that creates a personalized learning environment and community for every student.

Funds in the amount of $3,144,619.00 will be available in the EXCELerator Project. For tracking purposes, the project number specific to this agenda item is 5378. As of Wednesday, May 24, 2017, the remaining balance less encumbrances for this line item equaled $3,177,619.00. Annual expenditures of $3,144,619.00 for partnership fees totaling $232,800.00 along with products including PSAT, SAT, Advanced Placement Summer Institute (hosted by the University of South Florida and the Pinellas County School District), SpringBoard, and professional development totaling $2,911,819.00.  Funding is covered from the College and Career Readiness funds generated by weighted Advanced Placement courses and exams.
EVALUATION
Data will be collected from each site on a quarterly basis and sent to The College Board for review.  The College Board monitoring teams will work with site-based monitoring teams to ensure that programs are implemented.
