SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS

Cost reimbursement sub contract between University of South Florida (USF) and SDHC for Mathematics and Science Partnerships (MASTERS) Grant, CFDA # 84.366, subagreement # 1028-1003-00-A.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

This grant will be implemented between August 10, 2005 and June 30, 2006. Project MASTERS proposes to increase the number of well-prepared beginning mathematics and science teachers entering the teaching profession from other careers or career plans. The project focuses on Hillsborough County Middle and High Schools (secondary) that meet high need criteria. Support includes mentors trained by SDHC. USF will provide technology and content training for SDHC Mathematics and Science teacher participants. Museum of Science and Industry (MOSI) will recruit candidates from other careers or career plans. SDHC will collect and provide science and mathematics assessment data to the outside evaluator for the grant. The outside evaluator will provide a copy of the annual evaluation report to SDHC's Office of Assessment and Accountability.
