Approve Change Authorization to Contract with IBM Global Services for Lawson Post-Production Support Services for Human Resources, Benefits and Payroll (Information and Technology Division)

On July 12, 2005, the School Board approved the contract with IBM Global Services for 42 days of additional post go-live support for Human Resources, Benefits, and Payroll. The agreement provided for IBM to staff the support with three “functional” consultants to provide a total of 848 hours of service. This Change Authorization extends the IBM post go-live support until January 31, 2006. The complexity of Lawson Human Resources and Payroll, along with the issues and lessons learned since “go live” on July 5, 2005, indicates that the district will need these additional 2088 hours of post go-live support.

2.b.12 Provide sufficient system capacity to eficiently respond to classroom and school needs in order to promote and support quality instructional performance and a professional environment conducive to high morale and teacher retention.

The estimated cost for this Change Authorization with IBM Global Services for Lawson Post-Production support is $467,365.19 consisting of $406,404.51 for 2088 hours of service plus actual travel and living costs incurred estimated at 15% of the total cost of services. Funding is from the District’s technology budget, project 5002.
