SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
This project is being planned by the architectural firm of Long & Associates, Inc. On November 18, 2003, the Board appointed the construction management firm of Hardin Construction. This new facility is a reuse of the Shields Middle School design. As of the current boundaries, relief will be provided for Benito and Liberty Middle Schools.
Approval of the guaranteed price will provide a maximum cost for the facility. Project completion is scheduled for August 1, 2006.

Critical Success Factor 6.a.8 - Provide sufficient student stations to ensure uninterrupted student learning and data gathering as measured by District Operational Goals plan.
FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: Yes)
Construction cost is warranted at $18,517,742. The construction budget is $18,517,742. This item is included in the District Capital Outlay: Certificates of Participation 2004C and Series 02.
