Approve the Administrative Appointment of Principal for Bryant Elementary School

This position is available due to the appointment of Debra Veranth to the position of Director of Administration effective August 10, 2005. Recommend that Karen Bass, currently Principal at Folsom Elementary School, be appointed to the Principalship at Bryant Elementary School effective August 24, 2005.

Karen Bass began her teaching career as a teacher at Nathaniel Green School in Greensboro, North Carolina (1973-75), Ashley Junior High School in Gastonia, North Carolina (1975-76), Mebane Cook Elementary School in Winston-Salem, North Carolina (1976-1979), Whitaker Elementary School in Winston-Salem, North Carolina (1980-81), and Vernon High School in Raleigh, North Carolina (1983-84). She began her employment with the School District of Hillsborough County on November 24, 1986 as a teacher at Lutz Elementary School. She continued in that position until February 1, 1996 when she was appointed Administrative Resource Teacher at Lowry Elementary School. On August 10, 1998, she was appointed Assistant Principal for Elementary Instruction at Westchase Elementary School. On October 29, 2003, she was appointed Principal of Folsom Elementary School. She is currently serving in this capacity.
