Approve Renewal Contractual Agreement with the YOUTH & FAMILY CENTERED SERVICES OF FLORIDA, dba TAMPA BAY ACADEMY, for a Deaf and Hard of Hearing Student with Emotional Challenges - $60,060 (Curriculum and Instruction Division)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
On September 6, 2005, the School Board approved a contractual agreement with Youth & Family Centered Services of Florida, dba Tampa Bay Academy for residential placement of a deaf and hard of hearing student with emotional challenges who relocated to Hillsborough District from Massachusetts. It is necessary to renew the contract in order to continue to provide services for the student. A renewal contract for $60,060 has been developed to provide services through May 31, 2006.
Tampa Bay Academy Residential Treatment Center provides residential and therapeutic services for this student. The District continues to evaluate the severity of the student’s disability and the type and intensity of services that the student requires on a full-time basis. Tampa Bay Academy Charter School provides the educational component. The FTE generated has been calculated based on the Base Student Allocation for Hillsborough County and the Matrix of Services developed for the student covers the educational cost.
ANNUAL DISTRICT GOAL(S) AND CRITICAL SUCCESS FACTOR(S)
Goal 1 - The percentage of students scoring at Level 3 or higher on FCAT reading will increase a minimum of 5 percentage points.
