EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The Palm River Weed and Seed has acquired additional funding to implement an ATOSS After-School Tutoring Program that will begin in February 2006 and a Summer Enrichment Program that will begin in June 2006. An additional Interlocal Agreement has been developed to provide funding for certified teacher and paraprofessional services. The after-school tutoring program will allow ATOSS students to remain after hours for Intensive Reading, Math, and English. The program will extend into a Summer Enrichment Program which will add a Service Learning and Character Education Component. These programs are designed to assist students in developing attitudes, behaviors and skills that make it possible for them to be successful both socially and academically. The Interlocal Agreement will fund up to $24,000 for the period ending February 28, 2007.
Approximately 500 students are served at the ATOSS sites.
