Approve the Interlocal Agency Agreement between the School District of Hillsborough County and the Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners for Participation as a Delegate Agency in the Head Start Program (Student Services & Federal Programs Division)

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

The School District of Hillsborough County’s Head Start Program has been in operation for 40 years as a delegate Head Start agency and continues to provide comprehensive services to the 1,759 eligible 3, 4, and 5 year old children served. This interlocal agreement is in effect October 1, 2005 through September 30, 2006.

ANNUAL DISTRICT GOAL(S) AND CRITICAL SUCCESS FACTOR(S)

Goal 5 - The district will eliminate the FCAT achievement gap by a minimum of 10 percentage points as reported by No Child Left Behind.

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: Yes)

The total funding of $9,912,160, comprised of $9,862,662 in Program Account 22A funds and $49,498 in Program Account 20A funds, is contracted to the School District of Hillsborough County Head Start Program and is expended for the operation of the total Head Start Program and all services provided to eligible children and families served. All funds are generated by Part 4 dollars.
