SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS

Approve Third Amendment to Sublease 1 and 2 Between the School District of Hillsborough County (now Hillsborough County Public Schools) and PharMerica, Inc. (Student Services and Federal Programs Division)

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

For the past six and a half years the School Readiness and Head Start Programs have been housed in a leased facility. The existing lease expired December 31, 2005. This Third Amendment extends the lease between the School District of Hillsborough County and PharMerica, Inc. for 24,884 square feet of office and warehouse space through August 31, 2008, with a 3% annual increase in monthly rent as follows: 2006 - $20,716.00, 2007 - $21,227.35, and 2008 - $21,756.90.

ANNUAL DISTRICT GOAL(S) AND CRITICAL SUCCESS FACTOR(S)

Goal 5 - The district will eliminate the FCAT achievement gap by a minimum of 10 percentage points as reported by No Child Left Behind.

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: Yes)

The federal contracts for School Readiness and Head Start programs permit the use of funds to rent facilities for program operation. One hundred percent of the funds will be used for the payment of rental fees, as stated above, for the term of the amended lease agreement commencing January 1, 2006, and expiring August 31, 2008. All funds are generated by Part 4 dollars.
