Approve Agreement for Technical Services with Imagination Station, Inc., dba istation - $172,044 (Curriculum and Instruction Division)

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

An Agreement for Technical Services has been developed with Imagination Station, Inc., dba istation, to provide professional development, technical services, site support, and follow-up for The Imagination Station Reading Program included as part of the Innovative Reading Pilot Grant awarded by the Florida Department of Education. The Imagination Station Reading Program is an internet delivered supplemental reading program that will impact 3,700 students at 59 elementary schools in kindergarten through third grade that are achieving less than adequate yearly progress (AYP) or performing below benchmark in reading. The program consists of two components: 1) the interactive curriculum and progress monitoring system, and 2) curriculum linked to data reports that are available from the web site, and may be used for additional teacher-directed classroom instruction. The District received $661,885 for the Innovative Reading Pilot.

ANNUAL DISTRICT GOAL(S) AND CRITICAL SUCCESS FACTOR(S)

Goal 1 - The percentage of students scoring at Level 3 or higher on FCAT reading will increase a minimum of 5 percentage points.

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: Yes)

Funds of $172,044 are included in the divisional special revenue/federal programs budget through the Innovative Reading Pilot Grant (Project 1047.)
