SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS

Approve Amendment # 2 to the Inter-local Agreement Between Hillsborough County Public Schools and Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners for Additional Funds Totaling $1,523,130, for the Period of October 1, 2004 through September 30, 2005 (Student Services & Federal Programs Division)

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

The Hillsborough County Public School's Head Start Program has been in operation for 40 years as a delegate Head Start agency and continues to provide comprehensive services to the 1,759 eligible 3, 4, and 5 year old children served. This interlocal agency agreement is in effect October 1, 2004 through September 30, 2005.

ANNUAL DISTRICT GOAL(S) AND CRITICAL SUCCESS FACTOR(S)

Goal 5 - The district will eliminate the FCAT achievement gap by a minimum of 10 percentage points as reported by No Child Left Behind.

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: Yes)

The total funding of $11,345,640 is provided through federal dollars that come through the Head Start Grantee, Hillsborough Board of County Commissioners and contracts to the Hillsborough County Public School's Head Start Program. The additional funds will be used for repairs to portable classrooms and carryover of construction funds. All funds are generated by Part 4 dollars.
