Approve the Annual Lease of 2,200 Square Feet of Office and Studio Space from the Education Channel at the rate of $2,477 Per Month in Order to House District Internal Communications Staff.

The demolition of the Instructional Services Center requires relocation of the current residents to other sites while construction of the new building takes place. The Education Channel facility provides adequate space to accommodate nine members of the new Internal Communications Department. The location will enhance the effectiveness of communications with the new organizational structure. The site will include broadcast services, email services, duplication services, the district resource teacher for internal communications and the department manager and secretary. The unique space and electrical needs of the broadcast services area are sufficiently met by this location while other locations have been problematic due to electrical or other space limitations. The attached lease is a one-year contract with the option for two renewals.

Effective internal and external communications will enhance and support the achievement of the defined goals in the District Strategic Plan.

The total annual cost for the lease is $29,724.00. This will be funded from the Facilities Division 2 mill budget. The expenses for monthly utilities will be funded from the general fund.
