Retro-approve Charter School Transportation Services for the Remainder of the School Year

As the Board requested, a review of transportation services for Charter Schools was conducted. A recommendation to discontinue services to the Charter Schools is presented due to the shortage of bus drivers. In addition a recommendation is presented to continue transportation services from January 3, 2006 through May 25, 2006. The continuation of services for the remainder of the year will allow Charter Schools to seek other options and notify parents of the cancellation of services for the 2006/2007 school year. The district will provide the Charter schools with the options of acquiring our surplus buses. We will help the charter schools with the transition. Charter schools have been notified of our inability to provide future transportation services.
