SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS

Approve Agreement for Technical Services with Richard M. Dupuis to Assist District and School Personnel with the Stanford 10 Implementation and Support the District's Extensive Student Data Reporting Needs. (Information and Technology Division)

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

The Information Services Department is short staffed due to the unexpected resignation of Lynn Hintz, an experienced senior programmer tasked to support the District’s assessment data needs. April and May are the critical months for assessment. Math Proficiency Benchmark Testing, Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test Writes, Stanford Diagnostic Reading Test, Personal Fitness, and Hillsborough Writes are just some of the demands for this time period. Additionally we are implementing the new Stanford 10. Richard Dupuis retired from the District’s Information Services Department March 2005, as an Assessment Programmer. His familiarity with the procedures and materials will allow us to accomplish all required tasks while we hire a new programmer. The agreement for technical services with Richard Dupuis is required to assist district and school personnel with the Stanford 10 implementation and support the district’s extensive student data reporting needs. It is expected that he will work three days a week between April 3 – June 2, 2006.

ANNUAL DISTRICT GOAL(S) AND CRITICAL SUCCESS FACTOR(S)

Goal 1.d.1: Develop a School Board-approved district-wide data collection system to monitor student achievement.

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: Yes)

The cost for this technical assistance shall not exceed $12,100.00, payable at the rate of $55.00 per billable hour. Funding for these expenses are from Fund 101, Site 9750, Project 9999, Program 620, Function 7750, Object 310.

EVALUATION

Richard Dupuis will work under the direct supervision of Jeff Arnold, the Systems and Procedures Analyst responsible for assessment programming. Jeff Arnold will provide Mr. Dupuis specific tasks to complete, and he will provide weekly status reports of work accomplished. Daniel Schultz, Information Services Applications Manager, will review the status reports weekly with Jeff Arnold to evaluate progress and assess retention needs with the intent to terminate the agreement as soon as all Stanford 10 requirements are met.
