SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS
Approve Agreement for Technical Services with Larry Davis Business Services Consulting Group (LDBS) for Crystal Reports Support (Information and Technology Division)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The District has a backlog of Human Resources, Payroll, and Benefits reports, as well as some Finance and Procurement reports that were not completed prior to implementing Lawson Software. Progress on reports development is improving. However, to meet the needs of schools and staff and ensure they are getting the most out of Lawson, additional action, through staff augmentation, is required to reduce the reports request backlog as soon as possible. LDBS is a local minority-owned, small business enterprise that has done contract work for the District assisting with the development of a tracking solution for the Office of Supplier Diversity. Based upon their performance for the Office of Supplier Diversity, along with their thorough proposal attached, LDBS is the right partner to assist our District with completing the reports' backlog. The intent is to complete this requirement within this fiscal year.
ANNUAL DISTRICT GOAL(S) AND CRITICAL SUCCESS FACTOR(S)
Best Financial Practices
FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: Yes)
The cost of this technical assistance will not exceed $67,230.00, payable at the rate of $90.00 per billable hour. Funding for these expenses is from Company 101, Site 9750, Project 5311, Program 620, Function 7750, and Object 310.
EVALUATION
LDBS will work directly with Malinda Anderson, the Information Services (IS) Systems and Procedures Analyst responsible for reports development. The analyst working with the LDBS senior consultant and individuals from the functional areas requiring reports will develop the specific prioritized task list from which LDBS will work. LDBS will provide weekly status reports, which the IS Systems Analyst and LDBS senior consultant will review together to discuss issues and progress, and resolve any discrepancies. The IS Systems Analyst will then review the status reports with Daniel Schultz, the IS Applications Manager, to evaluate progress and assess retention needs with the intent to terminate the agreement as soon as the agreed task list of backlog reports is complete. Note that completion by the end of this Fiscal Year was arbitrarily set, therefore, it is possible that a follow on agreement may be requested depending on LDBS performance in relationship to the extent of backlog remaining.
