ACCEPTANCE OF PROJECT

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

These projects were planned by the architectural firm of Carruthers & Associates. On January 13, 2004, the Board appointed the construction management firm of Christiano Construction Company, Inc. The scope of renovation included new carpet, vinyl composition tile (VCT) flooring, acoustical ceilings, intercom, fire alarm, telephone, data, security, closed circuit television (CCTV), and master key systems. It also provided for replacement of lighting fixtures, door hardware, heating, ventilation and air conditioning system (HVAC), painting, roofing, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) improvements, casework refurbishment, and miscellaneous deep cleaning, sealant, drainage and minor repair work. In addition, 12 primary classrooms were added to meet class size reduction requirements.

Change Order No. 3 (Renovation) provides for the final reconciliation of the Direct Purchase Program. Change Order No. 3 (CFK) provides for adjustments to the Direct Purchase Program. Change Order No. 4 (Renovation) provides credits for project savings, return of unused contingency funds, and final reconciliation of the Owner Controlled Insurance Program. Change Order No. 4 (CFK) provides credits for project savings and return of unused contingency funds. It also provides for the final reconciliation of the Direct Purchase and Owner Controlled Insurance Programs.

The architect advises that the referenced project is finally complete in accordance with the plans and specifications and other contract documents and recommends Board acceptance.
