LITHIA SPRINGS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
CHILLER PLANT REPLACEMENT
APPROVAL OF EXPENDITURE

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

This project is being planned by the engineering firm of Carastro & Associates Inc. The scope of work provides for the replacement of mechanical system components, including the chillers and air handlers. Bids were received on March 31, 2006 (see attachment). The low bidder, McQuay Inc., was selected to provide two chillers.

Approval of expenditure to McQuay Inc. will permit the advanced purchase of the chillers. Project completion is scheduled for July 31, 2006.

ANNUAL DISTRICT GOAL(S) AND CRITICAL SUCCESS FACTOR(S)

Critical Success Factor 6.a.7 - Provide school facility maintenance that allows for uninterrupted student learning (proper electricity, A/C, etc.) as measured by District Operational Goals plan.

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: Yes)

Total cost for two chillers is $126,000. Funding will be derived from Public Education Capital Outlay (PECO) Maintenance.
