SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS
Approve Amendments to Florida Department of Education Grants for Carl D. Perkins Technical Education Funds for Secondary, Postsecondary,and Tech Prep Programs, 2005-2006, Additional $293,216 (Technical and Career Education)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The Florida Department of Education awarded grants funds to Hillsborough District for 2005-2006 for federal Carl D. Perkins Technical Education Grant funds in the amount of $2,789,903. Notification has been received that roll-forward funds of $293,216 are available to districts that process amendments to the approved grants.
Amendments have been prepared for the roll-forward funds as follows: Secondary $204,328, Postsecondary $74,613, and Tech Prep $14,275.
A summary of the program initiatives for the additional funds is attached. The fiscal period is July 1, 2005, to June 30, 2006.

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: Yes)
If approved, the additional grant funding of $293,216 will be included in the divisional special revenue/federal program budget. There is no additional cost to the district.
EVALUATION
The Perkins grants performance measures evaluation is formulated at the state level each program year in June for the previous fiscal year. The 2005-2006 Perkins evaluation is expected to be posted June 2007.
