Approve the Technical Service Agreement for the National Middle School Association To Provide Professional Development Training and Support at Greco Middle School (Student Services & Federal Programs Division)

In an effort to identify all of the factors that will assist Greco Middle School with improving student achievement and teacher effectiveness, the National Middle School Association will help the school utilize its School Improvement Toolkit to provide direction for developing school improvement and professional development plans. The School Improvement Toolkit will provide an in-depth look at the school. It will provide data which will allow the school to determine what programs are working and what areas need improvement. The provider will consult through site visits and provide analysis of on-line self assessments and then provide reports to the staff which will help guide school and individual professional development plans.

Goal 5- The district will eliminate the Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test (FCAT) achievement gap by a minimum of 10 percentage points as reported by No Child Left Behind.

This Technical Service Agreement will be paid out of Greco Middle School’s Title I Staff Development set aside dollars. ($7,800)

In December of the 2006-07 school year, the leadership team at Greco Middle School will review the following information to determine the overall effectiveness of the service provider: teacher professional development participation, student test data, and a teacher survey. This information will be used to provide feedback to the provider and assist the district with making decisions on awarding future contracts.
