Approve Memorandum of Agreement Between the School District of Hillsborough County and the Tampa Housing Authority (Student Services & Federal Programs Division)

This Memorandum of Agreement is in effect May 17, 2006. School attendance is a community-wide concern. In partnership with families and select agency partners, educators continue to work to improve student attendance and academic achievement. A memorandum of agreement has been developed with Tampa Housing Authority to enhance communication and planning with select families.

Goal 5 – The district will eliminate the FCAT, Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test, achievement gap by a minimum of 10 percentage points as reported by No Child Left Behind.

The Supervisors of Attendance and School Social Work will meet regularly with agency staff and educators to implement the partnership. Approximate cost is $2,000 of staff time.

School staff, agency personnel and community residents will meet regularly to implement goals and develop programs. These efforts will be evaluated on an annual basis beginning in May 2007.
