Approve Renewal Facility Availability Agreement with Thomson Prometric for Florida Certified Nursing Assistant Certification (CNA) Testing, Learey Technical Center, 2006/2007 (Adult Technical Education)

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Florida Statutes require certification testing for nursing assistants, and our District offers programs in health science that require CNA testing. Thomson Prometric (formerly Experior, LLC) has held the state contract for testing since January 1, 2002, and has been using Learey Technical Center as a test site since May 18, 2002. Approximately 1,600 applicants are tested each year.

This ongoing partnership between Learey Technical Center and Thomson Prometric will continue to provide a local test site to benefit our health science students by providing a convenient location for testing. There is no additional cost to the District as Thomson Prometric will facilitate the test sessions and remit a fee of $8 per candidate to the school to cover expenses related to administering the certificaton exam.
