SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS

Approve Renewal Tech Prep Articulation Agreements with Hillsborough Community College for Business Technology Education Programs (Technical and Career Education)

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

For the past fourteen years, the School District and Hillsborough Community College (HCC) have worked collaboratively in implementing Tech-Prep Programs of Study districtwide and collegewide. One major component has been the establishment of articulation agreements allowing District secondary students the opportunity to enter degree-seeking programs at the community college.

Agreements have been updated to allow Business Technology Education students to be awarded college credit for completed high school programs: Academy of International Business students can earn 6-12 credits in Business Administration; Secondary Accounting students can earn 3 credits towards a degree in Accounting at the college upon matriculation.
