Approve the Naming and Dedication of the Dover Elementary School Reading Garden

The staff, community members, and students of Dover Elementary School and Willis Peters Exceptional Center have requested that the reading garden at Dover Elementary School be named the Kathleen Carr Reading Garden in honor of the principal, Kathleen Carr. Mrs. Carr has served the Hillsborough County School System for 35 years as a teacher, assistant principal, and principal. She was appointed Principal of Dover Elementary School on April 3, 1995 and has instilled a love of reading and learning with the students and staff. The staff, community members, and students would like to celebrate and honor her tireless dedication to nurturing both students and staff during her tenure as prinicpal at Dover.

Other: This is in accordance with Policy 8.27 (Procedure Summary) which governs that school sites and facilities shall be named for individuals who have rendered outstanding public service to public education, for geographical locations and for groups and clubs as indicated. Elementary, middle and secondary schools - for presidents, school board members, educators, outstanding citizens and geographical locations

There is no cost to the school district.
