Approve Workforce Education Fee Schedule for Adult Student Tuition and Financial Aid for Postsecondary Technical and Adult Education Programs, 2006/2007 (Adult Technical Education and Adult and Community Education)

Each year the Florida Legislature establishes minimum fee schedules for postsecondary technical and adult education programs. Staff members of the Departments of Adult Technical Education and Adult and Community Education have developed the recommended fee schedule for 2006/2007. The General Appropriations Act of 2006 provides that each district must increase last year's tuition by 2.5 percent and that the 2006/2007 tuition and fees must fall within ranges provided. The current statutory reference related to Workforce Education fees is Section 1009.22, F.S.

The fee structure is based on careful consideration to provide the best possible adult general education and high-skill, high-wage occupational training in the most cost-effective delivery of services. It has been the philosophy of the District to keep tuition and fees for our students at the lowest amount possible, while maintaining the highest quality programs. The recommended student rate per hour is based on state required fees, student intent, and student residency status.
