Approve the Lease Agreement Between Tampa Bay Workforce Alliance, Inc. and the Hillsborough County School Board (Student Services and Federal Programs Division)

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

This lease agreement with the Tampa Bay Workforce Alliance, Inc. is in effect July 1, 2006, through June 30, 2007. The Hillsborough County Public Schools – School Readiness Child Care Program and the Plant City Workforce Center coordinate services to establish a “one stop” for the provision of services for income-eligible families. This agreement will enable families to obtain all needed services at one time and in one location.

ANNUAL DISTRICT GOAL(S) AND CRITICAL SUCCESS FACTOR(S)

Goal 5 - The District will eliminate the Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test (FCAT) achievement gap by a minimum of 10 percentage points as reported by No Child Left Behind.

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: Yes)

The total funding of $2,484 ($207 monthly rent) is utilized to meet the lease agreement costs to provide “one stop” services for income-eligible families to include child care services. This lease agreement reflects an increase of $276 ($23 each month) over last year’s agreement. All the dollars are provided by federal funding to the Agency for Workforce Innovation Office of Early Learning, with an allocation made to the Hillsborough County School Readiness Coalition and, by virtue of a contractual agreement, onto the Hillsborough County Public Schools – Early Childhood School Readiness Programs.

EVALUATION

This contract is reflected in the year-end financial statements which are audited annually by the Hillsborough County School Readiness Coalition doing business as the Early Learning Coalition of Hillsborough County as prescribed by law. The Board will receive the audit reports when they are completed. The time of completion will vary based upon the activities of the auditors.
