SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
An extensive forensic examination revealed problems in the construction and design of Westchase Elementary. Under the terms of settlements reached with both the contractor and the architect of the original facility, the Board authorized a project to correct these problems. A remediation plan was prepared by The Architectural Practice, Inc. to address moisture intrusion related problems. Kalemeris Construction was appointed to provide construction management services under the terms of their existing continuing contract with the District.
Change Order No. 4 provides for modifications to the existing HVAC system to improve its operation. Change Order No. 5 provides for mold remediation, HVAC modifications, and repainting as directed by the District.

Critical Success Factor 6.a.8 - Provide sufficient student stations to ensure uninterrupted student learning and data gathering as measured by District Operational Goals plan.
FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: Yes)
Funding will be derived from Public Education Capital Outlay (PECO) Maintenance, 2 Mill, and proceeds from the settlement and release agreements with Safeco Insurance Company of America and The Architectural Practice, Inc.
