SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS

Approve Establishment of Petty Check/Change Fund and Bank Account for a New School Opening for the 2006-2007 School Year (Business Division)

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Petty Check/Change Funds are established or altered with School Board approval in compliance with State Board of Education Rules, chapter 6a-1.057. These are impressed funds transferred from district budget to the schools so that each school can make emergency purchases and have change to operate lunchrooms and athletic events. The school submits receipts to Accounts Payable as verification of expenditures for purchases. The school is then reimbursed, and the school's budget is reduced by the amount of the expenditure.

The new school is Deer Park Elementary School. These accounts and funds are needed to facilitate the opening. A listing of account signers and funds amounts is attached.

ANNUAL DISTRICT GOAL(S) AND CRITICAL SUCCESS FACTOR(S)

Goal 6: No school should receive a grade lower than C.

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: Yes)

A total of $450 will be transferred to Deer Park Elementary to begin operation.
