Approve Technical Services Agreement with Rosemary Gilmore to Assist Satellite Feeding Sites, Charter Schools, and Production Kitchens - $17,343 (Business Division)

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Rosemary Gilmore, a retired Student Nutrition Manager, provides valuable technical assistance to satellite feeding sites and production kitchens. Working part-time through a contract for technical services, Mrs. Gilmore will monitor three production kitchens, ten charter schools and 19 satellite feeding sites. They are required to follow Student Nutrition Services procedures for meal accountability, safety and sanitation, and meal service. Following these procedures ensures the proper handling of reimbursement claims, the inclusion of the appropriate meal food components and portion sizes, and a clean and sanitary food service area. Mrs. Gilmore provides technical assistance to the site administrator and support staff with respect to these procedures. She also provides training to Student Nutrition Services assistants and employees who are assigned to these sites and completes USDA reviews of each site. The services of Mrs. Gilmore are needed for the 2006-2007 school year.

Goal 6: All schools in the District will be assigned a state grade of A, B, or C.

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: Yes)

The contract is not to exceed $17,343. This is an annual expense to the Student Nutrition Services budget and is, therefore, not charged against the general fund.
