Approve Cooperative Agreement with St. John Presbyterian Learning Center, Inc. for Pre-Kindergarten Early Exceptional Learning Program (Exceptional Student Education)

A Cooperative Agreement has been developed with St. John Presbyterian Learning Center for an Early Exceptional Learning Program (EELP) for placement of District Pre-Kindergarten ESE students. St. John Presbyterian Learning Center will provide the facility, utilities, telephone, and maintenance as well as tuition waiver for District Pre-K ESE students. The District will provide a teacher, educational materials, and equipment required for the students’ Individual Educational Plans. The program will operate according to the district calendar. The Cooperative Agreement has been reviewed by the School Board attorney.

St. John Presbyterian Learning Center, 4110 North MacDill Avenue, Tampa, was established in 1996, is accredited by that National Association of Education of Young Children, and currently has a contract for services for the District School Readiness Program.

Critical Success Factor 1.b: Implement interventions for students below grade level, on grade level, and above grade level.

Funds of approximately $45,000 for the teacher salary are included in the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) budget. The St. John Presbyterian Learning Center facility will be utilized at no cost to the district.
