Approve the Contract With Drug Abuse Comprehensive Coordinating Office (DACCO), Inc.

The district operates non-school based alternative education sites to serve students who have been given a change of placement from their regular schools because they have committed Level One offenses or have demonstrated continuous dirsuptive behavior. DACCO provides the counseling component for these sites, including drug abuse counseling as necessary. Presently, DACCO provides four counselors at the following sites: East County Alternative, Meacham Alternative, and North Tampa Alternative. Each counselor serves approximately 25 - 30 students.

All district goals and critical success factors, with the exception of Goal 6.

The School Board provides DACCO with $50,000.00 to pay in part for the services provided and provides space for the counselors at the school site. DACCO provides funds from grants and other sources to support the implementation of these counseling services. This item is included in the division's Part 1 budget for 2006-2007.
