Approve the Naming and Dedication of the Administrative Office Building in Honor of Mrs. Annamae Johnson

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

The staff, community members, and students of Plant High School have requested that the administrative office building be named and dedicated in honor of Annamae Johnson. Mrs. Johnson served the Hillsborough County School System at Plant High School for 45 years as a teacher, department chair, dean of girls and ultimately Assistant Principal for Curriculum until her retirement in 2003. Her high ideals, calm demeanor and compassionate interactions with students, teachers, and parents have left a lasting impression upon all with whom she worked. The staff, community members, and students would like to celebrate and honor her tireless dedication to nurturing both students and staff during her tenure at Plant High School.

ANNUAL DISTRICT GOAL(S) AND CRITICAL SUCCESS FACTOR(S)

Other: This is in accordance with Policy 8.27 (Procedure Summary) which governs that school sites and facilities shall be named for individuals who have rendered outstanding public service to public education, for geographical locations and for groups and clubs as indicated. Elementary, middle and secondary schools – for presidents, school board members, educators, outstanding citizens and geographical locations.

There is no cost to the school district.
