BOILER ROOM REMEDIATION
APPROVAL OF EXPENDITURE

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

During the construction of Nelson Elementary School, a code violation was discovered in the design of the boiler room. The Nelson Elementary School design was reused for Chiles and Ippolito Elementary Schools. The architect of record, Woodroffe Corporation Architects, will provide design services for the remediation of the boiler room at the referenced schools. JBD Construction is providing construction management services under their continuing services agreement.

Approval of expenditure to JBD Construction will permit revisions to the ventilation system and enclosure of the kitchen water heater with a fire-rated partition.

ANNUAL DISTRICT GOAL(S) AND CRITICAL SUCCESS FACTOR(S)

Critical Success Factor 6.a.7 - Provide school facility maintenance that allows for uninterrupted student learning (proper electricity, A/C, etc.) as measured by District Operational Goals plan.

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: Yes)

Total project cost for both schools is $18,691. The architect has agreed to reimburse the District in the amount of $4,921. Funding in the amount of $13,770 will be derived from 2 Mill.
