Approve Renewal Contract Number 655 for Training Service with Tampa Bay Workforce Alliance, Inc., 2006/2007 (Adult Technical Education and Adult and Community Education) - Added Attachment

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

On October 25, 2005, the School Board approved Modification Number 5 of the Training Vendor Agreement with Tampa Bay Workforce Alliance, Inc. for the fiscal period July 1, 2005 - June 30, 2006. This Training Provider Contract provides an updated schedule of programs and training costs for eligible adults sponsored by Workforce Investment Act (WIA) funding for the fiscal period July 1, 2006 - June 30, 2007.

WIA funding allows adults to access technical, career, and adult education programs. These programs are provided at Aparicio-Levy, Brewster, Erwin, and Learey Technical Centers; Tampa Bay Technical Evening Center; and Adult and Community Education Centers throughout the county. WIA provides funds for tuition, books, fees, uniforms, and related supportive services.

The training programs provided by WIA will generate Workforce Education funds. There is no additional cost to the district.

EVALUATION

Evaluation will be based on an analysis of the number of WIA participants served and the number of Occupational Completion Points earned by June 30, 2007.
