Approval of Travel Reimbursement Rates.

Legislation was enacted in the 2006 legislative session that provided for increased reimbursement rates for per diem, subsistence, and for mileage. The legislation permits school boards to enact policies that vary from the specified standard rates so long as those rates are not less than the authorized rates for the 2005-2006 fiscal year. Rates established are required to apply uniformly to all travel conducted by the entity.

The 2005-2006 rate for vicinity travel is 33 cents - to be changed to 37 cents. The 2005-2006 rate for meals is $3.00 for breakfast, $6.00 for lunch and $12.00 for dinner - to be changed to $6.00 for breakfast, $9.00 for lunch and $15.00 for dinner. Changes in rates retroactive to July 1, 2006.
